Statistical Analysis of Phenol Removal Using Modified Iraqi Bentonite from Wastewater by Adsorption Process

Abstract Bentonite from Iraq was the clay of choice for this study (Calcium base). The “State Company Geological Survey and Mining” provided rock, which altered using Activation by Heat Acid. activation involved calcination at 400 Celsius, whereas chemical H 2 SO 4 . Analysis utilizing XRD, BET, FTIR on bentonite before after Activation. Adsorption kinetics isotherm were analyzed to assess whether modified could act as an adsorbent eliminate phenol water. found that being activated, bentonite’s surface area increased 63.32 78.65 m /g. extraction synthetic wastewater activated tested in a batch experiment. effects pH, concentration, temperature removal have been studied. According findings, pH 3 is optimal removal, with elimination rate 88% 50 ppm, 55 0 C temperature, 1 gram bentonite. indicates Freundlich model has most accurate model, accuracy 97%. experimental RSM used develop statistical remarkable 90% accuracy.
